Özyeğin University Recognized Among the World’s Leading Universities in THE Sustainability Impact Rankings 2026

Özyeğin University has been ranked in the 401–600 band among 1,603 institutions worldwide in the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, which assess universities based on their social, environmental, and economic contributions toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Nationally, the University placed 16th in Türkiye and 3rd among foundation universities.

Özyeğin University stood out with its particularly strong performance in SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), ranking among the top 200 universities globally in each of these categories. The University’s rise to the 101–200 band in SDG 6 serves as a strong recognition of the impact of its year-long initiatives, including the designation of the 2025–2026 academic year as the “Water Year,” alongside university-wide awareness efforts, campus-wide water management practices, and stakeholder collaborations.

Özyeğin University has also maintained its strong position in the 101–200 band for both SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Through its commitment to a sustainable campus model, responsible resource use, institutional governance, and social impact initiatives, the University continues to expand its global footprint.
