We are at Istanbul Maker Faire 2017 with our creative projects!

OpenFab and our student projects will be showcased at Maker Faire which will take place in Haydarpaşa Train Station from October 27 to 29.

Blending technology with the “Do It Yourself” culture, Maker Movement is quickly spreading all around the world, and rapidly continues to gain momentum in Turkey as well.  Maker Faire is one of the hallmark events of the maker movement in Turkey. This year, Maker Faire 2017 will be celebrated like a festival where our University will also showcase its creative projects.

Maker Faire will feature not only the projects developed by OpenFab at Özyeğin University, but also the original works of our students in a big railcar. Among the showcased projects are game platforms, including finger soccer and tangram, which reflect the creative spirit of the maker movement as well as various social media ideas such as Photobooth and Takipçisayar (Followercounter).  Babu Speaker, a handmade wireless speaker, ESPcopter, a low-cost drone development board, TÜBİTAK-funded Mapping Robot project, and Armeee project, which is developed to serve across many fields of use from surgery to sculpture, are also some of the highlights.

The surprise exhibit will be the Martian Rover which was developed at our Robotics Research Laboratory and placed 10th in the European Rover Challenge (ERC) among 44 competing teams. The Martian Rover will be showcased in a simulated Martian environment, and accompanied by our very own OzU Rover Team, who will answer the questions of visitors interested in space.

If you are interested in technology, thrilled about innovative ideas, and looking to have a good weekend, we look forward to seeing you among us at the Özyeğin University OpenFab car on Platform 1.
