Seminar Series of the School of Applied Sciences – Spring 2018 – 5. Seminar

Dear Students of the School of Applied Sciences,

You are kindly informed to welcome the Director of the School of Applied Sciences (SAS), Mr. Teoman Alemdar, the International Councillor of SKAL,Ms. Asuman Tarıman and the President of Marmara SKAL, Mr. Mert Okan as the guest speakers of the seminar series.

The medium of instruction will be in English. Please comply with the expected “Dress Code.”

Ms. Asuman Tarıman graduated from Gazi University, Institute of Foreign Languages, Department of English Teaching in 1973. She took Professional Tourist Guide Education from Ministry of Tourism, Ankara in 1988. She has been the owner of Asuta Tourism Limited Company since 1985. Currently, Ms. Asuman Tarıman is the International Councillor of SKAL.

Mr. Mert Okan was born in 1968 in İstanbul.  After the vocational high school of Hotel Management and Tourism, he took his associate degree from İ.T.Ü, Sakarya Faculty. He graduated from Business Administration Department, Anadolu University. He started to work in the hospitality industry while he was a student during summer period in resort hotels. He had important management experiences for hotel opening in international chain hotels like The Marmara Hotel Taksim, Çırağan Palace Hotel Kempinski İstanbul, Polat Renaissance Hotel İstanbul and the other hotels in İstanbul and Marmaris. Skal International Marmara Club President Mert Okan is also Turoyd (Tourism Hotel Managers Assocation) founding member, Türob (Hotel Assocation of Turkey) member and Hotel Controls commitee member.

Ms. Asuman Tarıman and Mr. Mert Okan are going to make speech as the panelist in commemoration of ‘World SKAL Day’ in the Seminar course. The moderation of the panel is going to be made by the Director of the School of Applied Sciences, Mr. Teoman Alemdar. This event was organized jointly by SKAL 1. Marmara Club and International Hotel & Tourism Club (HoT-Club).
