Panel Discussion: Men’s Role in the Fight for Gender Equality   

Özyeğin University, Research Worldwide Istanbul, and the Initiative for Critical Studies of Masculinities jointly open up for discussion the men’s role in the fight for gender equality.

Özyeğin University will play host to the panel discussion “Men’s Role in the Fight for Gender Equality” as part of a series of events in celebration of its 10th year. Organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences at Özyeğin University, the panel discussion will address a series of projects and initiatives to promote men’s participation in the fight for gender equality.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Serpil Sancar, political scientist, and feature Ms. Nazan Moroğlu, Vice President of Istanbul Bar Association, and Mr. Mert Fırat, actor and UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, representing the Yanındayız Association, Ms. Zeliha Ünaldı, UN Women Turkey Director, Mr. Hasan Deniz, Fatherhood Studies Director at the Mother and Child Education Foundation, and Dr. Lecturer Murat Göç from the Initiative for Critical Studies of Masculinities.The panel intends to offer new approaches to the critical studies of masculinities to ensure and maintain gender equality. The panel discussion will take place on the Özyeğin University Çekmeköy Campus on May 10, 2019.
