Upon graduation from Robert College, Dr. Gülfer Meriç obtained her Bachelor of Law (LL.B) degree at Koç University with full scholarship in 2008 and her Master of Law (LL.M) degree in Private Law, from the Social Sciences Institute of Istanbul University in 2010. She commenced her doctoral studies at Social Sciences Institute of Istanbul University in 2010, passed the Ph.D. qualifying exams in 2012 and received her Ph.D. degree in January 2015 with her dissertation titled “Shipowner’s Civil Liability for Oil Pollution and Limitation of Liability”. Dr. Meriç has worked as a research assistant in Maritime Law and Insurance Law at Koç University Law School between 2008 and 2015.
