Biography

Her doctoral thesis, which she defended in Paris Sorbonne IV in 2017, was published in İletişim Publishing under the name of Kanatlanmış Kadınlar (Winged Women) in January 2020. It was selected as the "Best Book of the Year" at the GSU Top Awards 2020, organized by Galatasaray University students. She simplified Fatma Aliye's novels Refet and Levayih-i Hayat into contemporary Turkish in the Turkish Literature Classics series of İş bankası Publishing. She is currently preparing other novels of the author. In addition to Turkish Literature courses at Özyeğin University since 2009, she also teaches elective courses on gender and literature; feminist theory. Her research interest focuses on the history of 19th century Ottoman women's literature, women's literature from the 1950s- 1970s, transnational comparative feminist history and feminist literature.
