Champions League Football Tournament Begins
Dear Esteemed Özü Students,
The 2024-2025 Özü Champions League Football Tournament is commencing! The opportunity is now awaiting you to reflect the team spirit on the field, create unforgettable matches, and lift the championship trophy. Are you ready to showcase your talents and reach the pinnacle with your team?
To participate in the tournament, form your team and obtain the "Özü Champions League Application Form" from the Fitness office on the 1st floor of Sports Center, fill it with your team members' details, and submit your application to the Fitness office on the 25th of October 2024, Friday, by 4:00 PM at the latest. Please note that participation quotas are limited!
Team selections will be made when you submit your line-ups during the application process.

On the Champions League application form, a minimum of 18 individuals and a maximum of 22 individuals can be listed. The squad must include 4 international students. Licenses will be issued in exchange for two separate forms (1 team roster form and each athlete's signed health declaration form and photograph). Licenses are exclusive to the tournament and are valid for in-school competitions.
The championship is limited to 32 teams.

Özü Champions League Football Tournament Game Rules
- The football game rules are governed by FIFA regulations, with the offside rule not applying in elimination and group matches. The offside rule is enforced in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final matches.
- Matches are played with 10 players + 1 goalkeeper. The squad consists of a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 22 individuals. Matches must commence with a minimum of 7 players. Subsequent players arriving after the beginning of the match may join if they are on the list.
- Matches are played in two halves of 20 minutes each (20+20=40 minutes). There is a 5-minute halftime break. The match duration will be monitored by the referee.
- Each team must be present in match uniforms at the designated match time. Players are not allowed to wear items such as watches, rings, bracelets, etc., that could pose a danger to themselves or their opponents and must comply with the referee's warning to remove them. Failure to heed the warning may result in the player being sent off by the referee.
- Players must wear rubber-soled football boots or indoor sports shoes during matches. Wearing spiked cleats is strictly prohibited.
- The Champions League matches are played between 12:00 and 17:00 on weekends.
- If a player receives the first Yellow Card during a match, it does not affect the next match. However, if the same player receives a second Yellow Card in the same match, they will be sent off. As a suspended player, they cannot participate in the following match.
- If a player receives a Red Card during a match, they are sent off and receive a 2-match suspension. If the player makes derogatory gestures towards the referee, opponent, or tournament committee while leaving the field, the Committee may increase the penalty or expel the player from the tournament.
- Before, during, or after the match (within 15 minutes), the referee may conduct an identity check based on the request of the official in charge or the opposition team's official. If a player not listed in the squad or unable to present an Özyeğin University identification card is identified, the player's team will be deemed to have lost the match (3-0) by default. Fielding individuals who are not members of Özyeğin University is prohibited, and if identified, the team may be expelled from the tournament.
- If match-fixing is confirmed during the matches, the team involved in match-fixing will be expelled from the tournament.
- Red card penalties are carried over to the next tournament.
