Information Day Event To Be Organized For The ERC 2026 Advanced Grant Call Within The Scope Of The mERCury Project

Dear Faculty Members and Researchers,

The mERCury network, which serves as the National Contact Points (NCP) network for the European Research Council (ERC), is organizing an online event for researchers planning to apply for the ERC Advanced Grant call.

The event aims to provide a comprehensive perspective—from developing a groundbreaking research idea to understanding the ERC evaluation process.

ERC 2026 Advanced Grant Call (Expected Timeline and Budget)

Opening Date:	28 May. 2026
Deadline:	27 Aug. 2026
Total Budget:	747 million Euros
Estimated Number of Funded Projects:	Approximately 300 (across all research fields)
Budget per Project:	2.5 million Euros (+ additional funding opportunities of 1 and 2 million Euros)

The event will cover:

• Insights into ERC’s frontier research approach

• A dedicated session focusing on the ERC evaluation process

• Experience-sharing by Advanced Grant recipients from SH (Social Sciences and Humanities), PE (Physical Sciences and Engineering), and LS (Life Sciences) domains

• Contributions from ERC Executive Agency officials and panel members
