Memorial Service Held in Memory of Prof. Orhan Hacıhasanoğlu on Campus

We gathered on campus to honor and remember Professor Orhan Hacıhasanoğlu, a distinguished academic whose legacy will continue to inspire us through the academic vision he brought to our Faculty of Architecture and Design where he served as the Founding Dean, his pioneering contributions to the field of architecture in our country, his unwavering dedication to student development, his deep respect for his colleagues, and the lasting mark he left on our university.

Prof. Hacıhasanoğlu was also the founder of the Architecture Department Chairs Group (MOBBİG) and former Chair of the Association for Accreditation of Architectural Education. The memorial ceremony was attended by his beloved daughter, İlgi Hacıhasanoğlu Toprak; our Board of Trustees Chair Hüsnü M. Özyeğin; our President, Prof. Barış Tan; as well as our faculty, his loved ones, students, and members of the broader academic community from across the country. The ceremony opened with remarks by our President Prof. Barış Tan, and Prof. Aslıhan Ünlü, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design. The program continued with heartfelt reflections and shared memories by İlgi Hacıhasanoğlu Toprak, along with colleagues, friends, and loved ones who spoke in remembrance of his life and legacy.

We will continue to honor the academic vision and pioneering contributions of our esteemed professor Prof. Orhan Hacıhasanoğlu, through the Faculty of Architecture and Design classroom AB4 G25, which now bears his name.
