The Future of Tourism and Artificial Intelligence Explored at Özyeğin University on World Tourism Day

Özyeğin University’s Faculty of Applied Sciences hosted a special gathering to explore the future of the tourism industry in recognition of World Tourism Day. Held on September 24, 2026, the event marked the opening session of the Hotel Management and Gastronomy Seminar Series for the 2026–2027 academic year and welcomed Nadir Alpaslan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye.

Opened with remarks by Prof. Barış Tan, President of Özyeğin University, the event examined the transformation spurred by artificial intelligence in the tourism industry in line with the theme of World Tourism Day 2026, “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism.” Discussions explored how AI is redefining travel planning, destination selection, digital visibility, and the visitor experience, while also addressing the evolving skills required of tourism professionals and the relationship between digital transformation and sustainability.
