Design for Interiors Seminer - Gizem Aytaç

Design for Interiors Seminar series continues with Gizem Aytaç this semester. 

Bio

She graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Interior Architecture & Environmental Design, she attended Design Culture & Management Program at Istanbul Bilgi University. She is experienced in a variety of areas such as; design management, creative thinking, concept development and branding. She worked as an interior architect & design manager for brands like British Petroleum, Dortek, Akçansa, Alparda, Mudo Concept, Santralistanbul, Ciner Holding, Avedo etc. She started a design collective called ProjeTasarlaTR in 2002 with 4 designer friends and organized amateur design exhibitions. She was the project manager of Istanbul Design Week in 2005-2007.  She created GOM in 2015. GOM is a design brand active on educational technologies for children’s creative toys and games. GOM supports Sustainable Development Goals. It is a patented tool and a teaching method and was awarded for Superior Design Award 2018 by Design Turkey and awarded for Design Intelligence Award 2018 by China Academy of Art. She attended to Bridges Math And Art Conference in 2018 in Stockholm She was selected as a creative women entrepreneur for #shemeansbusiness award by Facebook & Vogue. GOM was invited to Graz for the World Wide Things Collection and exhibited for the Unesco Design Cities Network. Still writes about design thinking and creative economies in various publications like Manifold Press. Since 2020 she started working on corporate education about creativity, future studies for education, design culture and & management. She is also an instructor at Özyeğin University at the Faculty of Architecture and Design.
