Title: The link between mate value and relationship satisfaction.

Abstract: This presentation is based on one of our empirical studies looking into various mate choice behavior from an evolutionary psychology perspective. In this particular work, we investigate whether the so-called mate value discrepancy between one’s own and their partner’s mate value assessment may have an impact on their relationship satisfaction. We will, for instance, see whether/how people’s satisfaction with their relationship does change when they consider their partner more beautiful than themselves. Theoretical and practical implications will also be discussed.
