From Idea to Reality Workshop

Innovative and Creative Thinking in Applied Sciences

October 10 -17, 2025 (3 sessions)

Students participating in the event will generate creative ideas based on industry needs and will experience the design thinking methodology. By the end of the process, students will have the opportunity to move their ideas into the prototyping phase and present them to a jury. During the workshop, students will work in groups and will also be part of an academic research study. 

Open to students from the Faculty of Applied Sciences. The winning team will have the opportunity to participate in the international EM Cup Competition. Surprise gifts will be presented to the top-ranking students.

The workshop program will take place in three sessions.The sessions are as follows:

October 10, Friday | 9:00 - 16:30 Innovative Idea Development Session

The session will begin with the seminar titled "Applied Sciences and Innovation", followed by a training on the Design Thinking methodology. Then, participants will begin working in groups on empathic interviews and idea development activities.

October 14, Tuesday OpenDay – From Idea to Prototype Session

Participants will focus on one of the ideas they developed and, after short consultations with the facilitators, begin prototyping in the Openfab area.

October 17, Friday | 9:00 - 12:30 Project Presentation and Evaluation

Groups will complete their project presentations and submit them to the jury for evaluation. Following the jury’s assessment, projects will be evaluated and awards will be presented.
