You are kindly informed to welcome The Representative and Country Director of WFP (World Food Program), Mr. Stephen Cahill as the guest speaker of the seminar series.

Mr. Stephen Cahill joined the WFP Türkiye Country Office as Country Director after more than 30 years of experience in humanitarian and private-sector roles across over 10 countries. After holding significant positions in the private sector in various regions—including United Kingdom, Brazil, and Middle East—he joined WFP in 2004. Since then, he has worked in many large-scale, complex emergencies; most notably the 2022 Ukraine conflict and the West Africa Ebola outbreak (2014–2015). Throughout his career at the organization, he has dedicated his work to enhancing the operations of WFP and partner organizations, playing a key role in the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic by building a worldwide platform for logistics services and working closely with partners as a core component of humanitarian assistance and a stepping stone toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. This approach led to his appointment as Director of Humanitarian Logistics Services in 2021, through which he provided critical emergency supply-chain support to 900 humanitarian and development partners worldwide.

In the seminar class, Mr. Stephen Cahill will present on “Food Management in Disasters: The Role of WFP and the Contribution of Gastronomy”.
