The Sustainable Development Forum, a joint initiate of Özyeğin University, which celebrates its 10th anniversary, and TÜSİAD, organize a meeting for its first scientific study “Sectoral Sustainability Survey: Chemical, Fuel and Rubber/Plastic Sectors” on December 14, 2018, from 09:30 to 12:00 at the TÜSİAD Secretariat General Conference Hall in Taksim, Istanbul, Turkey.  The event will begin with the announcement of key findings obtained from the Sectoral Sustainability Survey, followed by a series of panel discussions held with participants from the relevant industries and the academia to evaluate the findings of the study and offer policy recommendations.

The Sectoral Sustainability Survey was launched by the Sustainable Development Fund to unveil the sustainability performance of the Turkish business world, and offer sectoral policies for sustainable development. The study was conducted after a tenacious analysis of nationally and internationally recognized sustainability criteria and methodologies with the ultimate goal of developing a sustainability assessment methodology for BIST companies. The methodology is intended to help evaluate the performance of BIST companies under different categories, including Environment, Product and Supply Chain, Employee Rights, Human Rights, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Corporate Governance, based on the contents of their public reports.  The first leg of the study entails the consolidation of company data in the selected sectors to analyze their sustainability performance, followed by a series of discussions on the methodology and its results with sector representatives in order to develop new policy recommendations.

The event is free of charge, but as the quota is limited, registration is required.  Please contact Mr. Okan Pala (okan.pala2@ozyegin.edu.tr) for registration.
