Abstract:
The purpose of this seminar is to introduce students to some applied settings via sport and exercise psychology. Some of the issues that we will pinpoint includes;
I. The challenges that psychologists face in a real life setting when people around them have limited knowledge about the field.
II. Working as a female in a male-dominated field.
III. Ethical and confidentiality problems.
We will also be talking about the roles of a sport and exercise psychologist and how these roles coincide with developmental psychologists and/or family therapists. At the end, a case study will be provided to students and a short discussion will be held about the case.
